Important infomation for Embers, a Werewolf: the Apocalypse game

What's The Game About?

The Silver Record speaks of how in time primeval Gaia created the werewolves - Garou - and charged them with defending her.  The Four Winds gifted them with the power to change forms, to channel their passion and power, and to walk amongst the spirits.  Luna, Gaia's sister, gifted them with her knowledge, both a strength and a curse as the moon waxes and wanes.  Thus empowered, the Garou have done their duty ever since...

Simply put, the majority of characters in Embers are out to save the world, fighting the forces of corruption and stasis to save what remains of nature in a dark world.  In this place, the line between friend and enemy is sometimes clear, sometimes vague.  Loyalties are at once well defined, conflicting and confusing - does one follow the nature of one's sept, tribe, auspice, breed, pack, or even oneself?  Anger, honor, savagery, passion, murder, mercy, survival, vengeance, love, abuse, war, dark secrets, heroism, mortal combat. Embers is a tapestry woven of grand epics.

We think it'll be fun.

Embers is a five-episode chronicle LARP taking place in the collective universe created by the Inquiry, Elysium, Gehenna, and VARA games, which have all been loosely based on White Wolf's World of Darkness and using the Mind's Eye Theatre rules.  Embers takes place approximately two years after then end of Inquiry.  Knowledge of the events in Inquiry or any of the other previous games is not required to play in Embers, nor is it likely to degrade the players' enjoyment.

At this time, we have a full cast of full-time PCs and are not looking for any new players. However, we are expecting to need people to play NPCs (part-time players with plot-specific short-term goals) to aid the storytelling process. We think that NPCs can have just as much fun as a PC while not required to play in any in-between game capacity. It is an ideal alternative for people who want to be involved, but find the responsibility of being a PC doesn't mesh well with their busy lives. All potential NPC will be put into a pool and contacted about a week or so prior to the next game in a sort of 'casting call'. From those that repsond, we will select the NPCs for that game session. To register as a potnetial NPC, fill out a registration form, e-mail it back to us, and we'll put you in the NPC pool.

The cost for each episode is expected to be $10-15 in order to defray site rental, insurance, food costs and production expenses.  This is a not-for-profit operation and any excess funds will be used to enhance the game itself (props, costume, better food, etc.).
